How does golgari charm kill creatures?

In this one youtube video, Nick Wright Vs. John Donovan

Start at the 5:26 spot for context and about 10 seconds later is where John plays a Golgari Charm, and kills off almost all of Nick's creatures. My question is simply how?

Nick has a Goblin Rabblemaster, Foundry Street Denizen x2 and something else but I'm not sure what.

Golgari Charm gave all of Nick's X/1 creatures -1/-1. As a result, they had 0 toughness and were put into their owner's graveyard as a state-based action.

This is explained in the video at about the 5:18 mark.

Ahh, that certainly makes sense.

In my defense however, the narrator says "it'll spell disaster" for the smaller creatures, but didn't explain why in the detail that you did. Thanks :)
