How does Endless One interact with Cryptic Gateway

I was play testing an Eldrazi deck and I ran into this possibility;
I had a Eldrazi Mimic + Walker of the Wastes on the field as well as Cryptic Gateway.Normally I would use this opportunity to drop something really large ahead of curve but I saw Endless One in my hand.
Can I cast Endless One using Cryptic Gateway?
What actually happens here?
Do I loose the game because I cause an infinite loop? (My understanding of Cryptic Gateway is that it casts a creature of any cost).
Do I get to pick the P/T?
Or does it simply just not cast?

*** PS. I mostly play casual with buddies so if there are legality issues with these cards I wouldn't know.

Your friend is correct. Since you never casted Endless One you never established the value of X. Thus he receives no +1/+1 counters, and without support of another card's static ability like Gaea's Anthem, he will die.

So I talked to buddy he says it comes in as 0/0 and dies.... Just looking for confirmation on this and Ill close the thread.
