How do Teysa Karlov and Extractor Demon interact?

Say i have a random creature die while i have Extractor Demon and Teysa Karlov out. How much do i mill my opponent for? Is leaving the battlefield the same as dying in this scenario?

i'm going to have to assume that these questions stem from a lack of understanding of the term "dying". "dying" means "put into the graveyard from the battlefield". that should more than answer your question about exploit and sacrifice.

To your follow-up question: Teysa Karlov doesn't interact with exploit. Exploit triggers when you take the action of sacrificing a creature to a specific exploit ability, not when the sacrificed creature is put into the graveyard. It's a very fine distinction to make but it matters in this case.

Rhadamanthus but a creature being exploited could cause other abilities to trigger, such as Zulaport Cutthroat , and the teysa would cause zulaport to trigger twice. although tbh i have no idea which of these 2 types of situations (the one you described vs the one i described) he was talking about.

all dying is leaving the battlefield, but not all ways of leaving the battlefield are "dying". if a creature dies while you control both the demon and teysa, you'll mill your opponent 4 cards.
