How Do Pariah's Shield and Shield of the Avatar Interact?

Asked by DemonDragonJ 4 years ago

If a creature is equipped with both Pariah's Shield and Shield of the Avatar , will the latter shield prevent damage that is redirected to the creature by the former shield?

Also, as a bonus question, will the abilities of multiple shields of the avatar stack with each other?

Everything works as you expect it to work. Lets say you have 2 creatures on board and one of them is equipped with 1x Pariah's Shield and 2x Shield of the Avatar . Your opponent cast Lightning Bolt targeting you. The bolt resolves and Pariah's Shield replacement effect takes place attempting to damage your equipped creature instead. You control the creature equipped with Shield of the Avatar , therefore you choose the order of which the 2 prevention effects occur. The first shield prevents 2 of the 3 damage from Lightning Bolt (since you control two creatures), then the second prevents the last point of damage , therefore absorbing the damage fully.
