How do multiple lighthouse chronologists work together

Asked by ThePwnageKitty 9 years ago

If multiple Lighthouse Chronologist are fully leveled, do they apply that many extra turns at the end of an opponents turn or does it apply just one

Taken from the gatherer page on Lighthouse Chronologist :

6/15/2010 - The effects of multiple level 7 Lighthouse Chronologists are cumulative. If you control two of them in a two-player game, you'll take three turns for each turn your opponent takes.

Ok how does that work in two-headed giant if both players on the same side have one.

In two headed giant each team takes their turn simultaneously. Instead of player A takes a turn, team A takes a turn, so on and so forth. Both triggers for both Lighthouse Chronologist will go on the stack, regardless of whether one player on team A controls them or both players from team A control one of each. Long story short, it will go exactly as the ruling posted by WomboCombo says.

At the beginning of the end step of team B's turn both triggers will go on the stack, causing two extra turns for team A, followed by the regular turn of team A. End result, three turns for team A to one turn for team B.

I haven't come across this situation personally so someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but it should work the same way as if you controlled both of them.

Relevant 2HG rules:

805.4. Each team takes turns rather than each player.

805.8. If an effect gives a player an extra turn or adds a phase or step to that players turn, that players team takes the extra turn, phase, or step....

At the beginning of the 'end step' of the opposing team's turn, each of the Lighthouse Chronologist would trigger and add an additional turn for your team.

@WomboCombo: That is my understanding, which is why I said, 'regardless of whether one player on team A controls them or both players from team A control one of each.'

I am, of course, willing to accept that I am wrong, if that is not the case.
