How do Into the Wilds + Descendants' Path work together?

Asked by WILDBOYZ 5 years ago

On my upkeep with both in play, do Into the Wilds + Descendants' Path activate on one card and apply the relevant effect, or do they each reveal a single card and apply the effect in turn?

Each will resolve separately, however, you will get to choose the order they resolve in. So, you will have either Into the Wilds or Descendants' Path resolve first, then the other will resolve after. So, for the sake of illustration, let's say you have Into the Wilds resolve first.

You will look at the top card of your library. If it is a land card, you may put it on the battlefield. If not, it will go back on top of your library. Descendants' Path then resolves. You will then reveal the top card of your library (which may or may not be the card you just put back on top as a result of Into the Wilds). You will then cast it or place it on the bottom of your library.

It is important to note, you will not get to look at the top card of your library until after you have determined the order for these triggers.

Follow-up point: in your question you said "each reveal" a card - this is incorrect. Only Descendants' Path causes you to reveal the top card of your library to other players. Into the Wilds allows you to look at the top card of your library. Because you are looking at it, not revealing it, it remains hidden information from other players--you are the only one who sees the card as a result of Into the Wilds (unless, of course, you put it onto the battlefield).
