Grafted Wargear + Cloudshift sacrifice?

Asked by TehMagicPrimordial 7 years ago

If you have a creature with Grafted Wargear equipped and then target that creature with Cloudshift, will you still have to sacrifice that creature?

Additionally, if one uses Act of Treason on an opponents creature and then equips Grafted Wargear, at the end of your turn will the creature be sacrificed? And if so, by you or your opponent? Or does the equipment, Grafted Wargear, stay equipped and your opponent now has it on their creature once they've regained control.

Grafted Wargear gets unattached from the flickered creature while Cloudshift resolves, but its trigger is put on the stack only after Cloudshift is completely resolved. The flickered creature is a new object without relation to its former instance, so there is no creature to sacrifice for the Wargear anymore.

If you equip a creature and that creature changes controllers afterwards, the equipment stays on it, but you are still its controller. In your turn, you can still equip it to one of our creatures. In this scenario, the clever move would be to equip it to one of your own creatures after attacking with your opponent's creature.
