Gisela, Blade of Goldnight with lose life effects

How would Gisela, Blade of Goldnight interact with cards like Hissing Miasma? I know Giesela double "damage" but since it is losing life would her effect not work in this situation?

Damage and life loss are not the same thing. They are commonly confused because damage to a player typically results in life loss, but not all damage results in life loss and not all life loss is from damage. Gisela, Blade of Goldnight doubles damage so she will not affect direct life loss, but she will affect damage like infect damage that doesn't result in life loss.
