Follow up Question

Okay so the other day I asked about using Supplant Form on a face down 2/2 creature as a result of morph/manifest. And found out that I'd get just a 2/2 vanilla because the game would use its last known characteristics, which is fine with me I just want to clarify.

Does rule 707.9 have any effect on this outcome? As when a face-down permanent changes zones its owner has to reveal it to all players, at least that's how I understood it.

Or would it not bc that wouldn't have been a characteristic of the creature I removed but of the flipside?

Just trying to understand the rules more. Looking to go competitive relatively soon.

If you use Supplant Form on a face-down creature, first you will get a colorless 2/2 with no creature types, mana cost, abilities, etc. But whenever a face-down creature changes zones, you must reveal what it is. So you will know what the face-down creature actually is, but Supplant Form will still only give you a vanilla 2/2.

It doesn't change. You reveal the face-down permanent as it goes to another zone; the card is considered in that zone when it is revealed. It's actually never face-up on the battlefield.
