Fevered Visions with new planeswalker rule?

I used to redirect the damage from Fevered Visions to planeswalkers that my opponent controlled. They didn't errata it like they did with many other cards to now say it can deal damage to planeswalkers when they got rid of the planeswalker redirection rule. So, have I been playing Fevered Visions wrong this whole time or has Fevered Visions become less powerful due to the rules change?

The rules change made it less powerful. Most cards that don't target didn't receive errata and thus became weaker with the rules change.
