exploit a Sultai Emissary by a Vulturous Aven

Asked by Tomahawk-Bang 8 years ago

A question that came up during our last draft session:

I am the active player and have a Sultai Emissary in play. I then cast Vulturous Aven and use it's ETB ability to exploit the Sultai Emissary. Now Sultai Emissary's ability triggers because it dies.

In what order do the abilities from the two creatures resolve now? Do I draw 2 cards and loose 2 life first and then manifest the top card of my library? Or do I manifest first and then draw 2 cards and loose 2 life? Or, since I am the active player, can I stack the abilities in whichever order I want?

You are allowed to stack the triggers in whatever order you want because they were triggered by the same event

You can stack the triggers in either order, but because you control both of them, not because you're the active player. When multiple triggered abilities would be put on the stack at the same time the ones the active player controls are put on first in whatever order he or she chooses, followed by the non-active players in turn order. The non-active players' always resolve first.
