Eldritch Evolution - usable to play other colors?

Hello, this question is about Eldritch Evolution. It says "converted mana cost X+2". Does that mean I convert GG2 to 4+2 and can play a card of XXXXXX or does it convert accordingly and I have to play a card of GG4.

In short: can I use the card in a mono green deck to play a red card for example?

Yes, just like with Birthing Pod the only thing that matters is the converted mana cost. Colors are not taken into account.
