Dryad arbor/vernal bloom interaction

Asked by fadelightningmm 9 years ago

So the way Vernal Bloom reads I'm not sure if it only interacts with the card name Forest like Extraplanar Lens or if it refers to card type forest allowing in my case Dryad Arbor and any green shock an extra mana. Any insight would be wonderful

If an effect cares about a card's name, it will say "a card named [name]." Vernal Bloom doesn't have any such qualifier, so we know it only cares about types. Anything with the basic land type "Forest" will qualify.

Vernal Bloom Work with any card with the subtype Forest. If a card wants to call another card with a specific name if will say "a card named 'something'" rather than just the name. The only time a card will not say "named 'something'" is when it is referencing itself. EG. "When ~ becomes tapped you lose life" rather than when "when a card named ~ is tapped you lose one life"
