Doubt about enchantments interactions

Asked by koizintec9 4 years ago

I already tried researching a bit and found nothing helpful within the rulings related to each card. Say I have an Sigil of the New Dawn in play along with a Starfield of Nyx or an Opalescence . If any of my enchantments that turned into creatures die, does it still trigger the sigil? My gut tells me that this shouldn't be allowed since the card mentions the moment that it is put on the gy, and by that moment it has turned back into only being an enchantment. Is this correct?

It still triggers. I know that for sure. So I'm thinking yes this works. But I'm only 75% sure.

Ask yourself this. If you have Opalescence in play and Mikaeus, the Unhallowed in play and a creature/enchantment dies, does it come back?

I'm 90% sure. As long as it's a creature when its put into the graveyard the ability triggers. Sigil of the New Dawn doesn't care if it's still a creature or not when it's in the graveyard because it says "card" in its text. It only cares that it's a creature when it's a creature from when its put there from the battlefield.

The ability will trigger because at the moment of the permanent dying, it is a creature. The ability doesn’t care if it then stops being a creature, it’ll return to your hand (assuming the payment was made for the ability).
