Does Yasova's ability happen after death?

From what I understand, if I bounce Yasova Dragonclaw in response to her activating the ability, it doesn't happen. Am I right? (will help save butthurt in TL)

The ability will still resolve. Because the duration of the ability is not dependent on you still controlling Yasova Dragonclaw, the ability can still give you control of the target creature provided that its power is less than Yasova Dragonclaw's last known power.
