Does taxers like Thalia affect the price of Daze?

My board: Thalia, Guardian of Thraben + Vryn Wingmare.
My hand: Daze.
Can I pay the alternative cost of Daze by returning an island to my hand, or do I have to pay 2 mana as well?

Thalia, Guardian of Thraben creates an additional cost. Daze has an alternate cost. Additional costs apply regardless of whether you choose to pay the mana cost or the alternate cost of a spell. You'll still have to pay more.
