Does Sunbird's Invocation trigger twice with Veyran?

Asked by bonettig 2 years ago

Hi everyone, since Sunbird's Invocation triggers when you cast a spell from your hand, if I have Veyran, Voice of Duality and cast from my hand an instant or sorcery spell... does the enchantment trigger once or twice?

Thanks!

Yes. Sunbird's Invocation is a permanent you control with an ability being triggered from casting an instant or sorcery, so it will trigger an additional time.

Yes. A triggered ability is one that starts with 'When' or 'Whenever', so Sunbird's Invocation would qualify.

Additionally, remember that each of those triggers lets you cast the spell, so Veyran, Voice of Duality 's Magecraft trigger will go off (twice) for each time as well.

So when you cast the one spell from your hand, Veyran will trigger twice, and Sunbird will also trigger twice. You'll end up getting to cast TWO spells from your library (assuming you don't whiff on the reveal) and that will cause Veyran to trigger four more times - so he'll get +6/+6 until end of turn.

Not bad. Not bad at all.
