Does regeneration removes -1/-1 counter?

because of some combat action my oppenent has creatures with -1/-1 counter on it, but they are not lethal.
If i play for e.g. Lightning Bolt he gets the chance to regenerate his creature Cudgel Troll .
Does the -1/-1 counter from which were put there from Glistener Elf during combat are removed or do they stay on his Troll after he regenerates?

Regeneration only applies to damage/destroy. So no.

No. Regeneration only removes damage marked on a creature. It doesn't remove counters, even if the counters were placed on that creature as a result of damage.
