Does Platinum Emperion prevent commander damage?

Platinum Emperion prevents life loss. Does this also prevent commander damage as well, or can commander damage be dealt while normal life is not changed?

Platinum Emperion makes so your life total doesn't change, ever. You still however can take damage. This works the same way infect works. You can still get poison counters even with a Platinum Emperion. Life loss is one of the possible things damage can cause. Poison causes damage to be as poison or -1/-1 counters. Wither causes damage to be as -1/-1 counters to creatures. Lifelink makes damage also gain you that much life.

You still take damage, it just doesn't result in loss of life.
