Does Pia's Revolution ability stack?

Asked by Tortuous_TG18 6 years ago

If you were to have 2 Pia's Revolutions out and you sacrifice, say, a Servo Schematic to a Ravenous Intruder. If the other player wanted for that artifact to stay in the graveyard, would they have to take 6 (3 from each Revolution) or is it just the initial 3 damage?

Both Revolutions trigger, and upon each resolution, your opponent gets the choice of being dealt 3 damage, even if the artifact should already be back in your hand. Here's what happens for each possibility:

Opponent chooses not being dealt damage both times
Upon the first resolution, the card will be returned to your hand. The second resolution won't find an artifact to return.

Opponent chooses being dealt damage the first time, but not the second
The first resolution will deal 3 damage to your opponent, the second resolution will return the card to your hand. For obvious resons, this is a rather unlikely scenario.

Opponent chooses not being dealt damage the first time, but the second time
The first resolution will return the card to your hand, then the second resolution will deal 3 damage to the opponent. Again, not a very logical choice in common scenarios.

Opponent chooses being dealt damage both times
Both resolutions will deal 3 damage to the opponent, and the card will remain in your graveyard.

Put simply, yes. They would have to take two instances of 3 damage, for a total of 6, in order for your artifact to stay in the graveyard.
