Does Notion Thief prevent a player with Archmage Ascension from searching their library?

So. I have a Notion Thief out. My opponent has a 6+ countered Archmage Ascension. They Blue Sun's Zenith themself for 4 on their turn. Would they skip those draws, or could they use the alternative "search your library" feature of Archmage Ascension?

When multiple replacement effects could apply to an event, the affected player chooses which replacement effect to apply first. Then, if any of the others still apply, he or she repeats the process.

Your opponent will choose for each draw whether to apply Archmage Ascension's replacement effect or Notion Thief's effect.
