Does Hero's Downfall stop a card like Chandra's Ignition from taking effect?

I have Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest equipped with Hero's Blade to make it a 6/4.
I play Chandra's Ignition, choosing Shu Yun as its target.
In response my opponent casts Hero's Downfall targeting Shu Yun.
Does the 6 damage still happen to my opponent and their creatures?

Downfall resolves killing Shu Yun, as Ignition resolves, it's target is no longer valid and it fizzles.
