Does Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker + Mutate Creature Combo?

Asked by Sultai_Sir 3 years ago

Does this combo work? Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker + Mutate Creature: What you do is simple: Mutate the mutating creature onto Kiki, with the mutating creature on top. Tap Kiki, copying himself, for infinite hasty mutating creatures! So does this work, or am I looking at this wrong? Thanks!

You can do this, provided the mutate creature you are using is not legendary.

Whether a mutate pile is legendary is determined by the top card of the mutate pile. So long as the top creature is not legendary, it will be a legal target for its own "Create a token that's a copy of target nonlegendary creature" ability.

When you copy a mutate pile, you copy the whole pile as a single entity, including all the abilities that are added by the creatures under the pile. So, when your mutate pile copies itself, the copy token will have Kiki's ability. You can then use the copy pile's ability to target itself (or the original, it doesn't really matter), creating another pile. You can repeat this as many times as you want.

As a note, you will end up with an infinite number of mutate piles, but they are all going to be tapped (except the last one you create) and all will be sacrificed at the beginning of the next end step. If you want to win with this combo, you will need something like Impact Tremors or some other way to capitalize on your infinite creature generation.
