Does a "sac a creature" ability trigger if you chose to sac the creature with "sac a creature"
Asked by masterosok 9 years ago
For instance... if Corpse Harvester is on the board, if I choose to sac him does his trigger still activate or does it fizzle since he is removed from the board?

Thanks! Good point.. I should have asked if the ability still resolves. Need to get my terminology straight. Thanks again for the info!

Unless the ability explicitly prevents you from doing it, yes you can :)

Once an ability is placed on the stack, it becomes independent of its source. Removing the source of the ability (in this case by sacrificing it as a cost of its own ability) will not cause the ability to fizzle and it will resolve as normal.
Also note that Corpse Harvester has an activated ability, not a triggered ability, so nothing triggers.
