Do your instants and sorcerers trigger an opponents heroic?

My friend has a deck filled with creatures that get buffed with heroic, and I just want to make sure that cards like Ulcerate don't help him more than they hurt him.

No. Heroic triggers when you cast a spell targeting a creature that you control. The person who casts the spell has to be the same person who controls the creature.

No. Heroic only triggers when the creature's controller casts a spell that targets the creature.
