Do Fevered Visions and Spiteful visions target

Hello,
I'd like some input on a ruling. Do Fevered Visions and Spiteful Visions target? Someone in my playgroup controlled an Amulet of Safekeeping and believed it would prevent the affects of the two aforementioned cards.

No. Unless a spell or ability specifically has the word "target" in it, it does not target. These two cards do not target. For example, compare the text of Molten Psyche (does not target) to Molten Vortex (which does).
