Disdainful Stroke and Morph

Can Disdainful Stroke counter a Morph Creature? Does Disdainful Stroke Look at the cards actual CMC or the Morph CMC of 3?

No.

Nothing checks the front face of a morph card while it is on the stack or battlefield as a 2/2 generic creature.

Because a face-down morph creature spell has no mana cost (and therefore a CMC of 0), it is not a legal target for Disdainful Stroke .

So then in a scenario with Scornful Egotist played face down, and you cast a Torrent of Fire (assuming no other non-land permanents), then the Torrent would deal 0 damage?
