Did I just kill myself with Teferi's Protection?

I had a Cloudsteel Kirin in play and equipped to a creature. I was on 22 commander damage. When my opponent cast an Abrade targeting my Cloudsteel Kirin in response I cast a Teferi's Protection. Did I just kill myself when the creature equipped phased out and SBA checks how much commander damage I've taken?

Yes, as Teferi's Protection only protects you from damage, targeting, and enchanting. It does not prevent you from losing the game, and your Cloudsteel Kirin no longer exists.
