Dauthi voidwalker

I have a Dauthi Voidwalker equipped with Illusionist's Bracers. On my opponents turn he Wrath of God the board. Can I use dauthi ability to play two plains that were exiled with his ability?
You aren't able to cast two spells with Dauthi Voidwalker using Illusionist's Bracers. Part of the activation cost is sacrificing Dauthi Voidwalker so it won't be on the battlefield anymore to be equipped when the Illusionist's Bracers would trigger.

Since you may not play lands on your opponents' turn, this is not doable.
If Dauthi Voidwalker said "put it onto the battlefield" you could do it--since that wouldn't count as playing--but that isn't the case.
