Creature equipped with Grafted Warhead and enchanted with Song of the Dryad

Asked by hfvalenz 5 years ago

If I have Grafted Wargear equipped to a creature and my opponent enchants the creature with Song of the Dryads, would I have to sacrifice it?

I’m thinking that as the creature ceases to be one to become a land and then, because of that, equipments fall off, it can’t be affected by the Grafted Wargear trigger, although the ability triggers, but doesn’t find a creature to sacrifice.

Grafted Wargear will indeed force you to sacrifice the forest. This is made more obvious by the oracle text, which now states "Whenever Grafted Wargear becomes unattached from a permanent, sacrifice that permanent." It doesn't matter what the card's type is, if the Wargear is removed (in this case because the creature stopped being a legal target, as it stopped being a creature,) the permanent is done for.

Oh thank you, I missed that permanent wording when reading the ruling.
