Craterhoof Behemoth multiple triggers?

Asked by anticonformity11 8 years ago

Here's the situation:

I start my turn with 2 creatures on the field, one being Garruk's Horde.

I cast Craterhoof Behemoth from the top of my deck and I get +X/+X trigger.

I cast Emancipation Angel from the top of my deck and return Craterhoof Behemoth to my hand.

I then cast 4 additional creatures from the top of my deck.

I now have 7 creatures on the field and cast Craterhoof Behemoth from my hand and I get the +X/+X trigger again.

My question is will the Craterhoof Behemoth's 1st +X/+X trigger give my creatures +8/+8 (the current number of creatures I control on the field) until the end of turn or +3/+3 (the number of creatures I controlled when I cast Craterhoof Behemoth the 1st time)? I know that the 2nd +X/+X trigger would give my creatures +8/+8.

From Gatherer:

The bonus is calculated based on the number of creatures you control when Craterhoof Behemoth's ability resolves, potentially including itself. If that number increases or decreases later in the turn, the bonus won't change.

Just to be clear: your creatures get +3/+3 from the first trigger, and that bonus only applies to the two other creatures that you controlled when the ability resolved. Because your creatures don't have flash, you have to actually resolve Craterhoof Behemoth's ability before you can continue casting creatures, so there's no way to save the trigger until the end.

So my two other creatures that were on the field the time will have +11/+11 and Craterhoof Behemoth will have +8/+8 when I go to my combat phase?
