Copies of cards

Asked by Wabbbit 8 years ago

If I copy a Lightning Strike with say, Pyromancer's Goggles, does the copy of the Lightning Strike count as being "cast"? Will the copy activate effects like Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh  Flip?

Always check Gatherer rulings first before resorting to the Q&A.

6/22/2015 If a copy is created, you control the copy. That copy is created on the stack, so its not cast. Abilities that trigger when a player casts a spell wont trigger. The copy will then resolve like a normal spell, after players get a chance to cast spells and activate abilities.

This copy of the spell will not trigger abilities that depend on spells being cast.

Alright, thanks a lot for the quick answer! Where exactly can I find these rulings?

Wabbbit Just type Gatherer in google and it should take you to the right place. It's Wizard's official online encyclopedia, as it were.
