Companion color restrictions

If I want to choose a companion for a commander deck, does it have to fit into that commander's color identity?

As an example, could i have Keruga, the Macrosage as companion to an Izzet deck?

The companion would still need to be in the color restriction.

While the companion does not count towards the 100 cards, it is still in the deck.

CR 903.5c:

A card can be included in a Commander deck only if every color in its color identity is also found in the color identity of the deck’s commander.
