Chrome Mox and a commander

Pretty sure I know the answer to this but I'm just following up as I couldn't find a specific ruling on the interaction I'm looking at.

Scenario: I'm playing commander and my general is Ghave, Guru of Spores for whatever reason is in my hand. I play Chrome Mox and exile Ghave for the mox.

If I ridirect ghave to the command zone that stops mox from adding any mana right? Because it's technically not imprinted on mox?

Correct. If the imprinted card does not go to exile or is removed from exile, it is no longer imprinted, and Chrome Mox 's linked ability will not be able to generate any mana.

That's what I thought based off of gatherer card ruling but I wanted to make sure I was interpreting it right.
