Chandra Ablaze and Dragonstorm

Asked by wolfdwarf 7 years ago

Would using Chandra Ablaze's ultimate with Dragonstorm in the graveyard cause Dragon Storm to repeat over and over? Or am I completely misunderstanding "storm"??

You seem to be completely misunderstanding storm. Dragonstorm gets a copy created for each other spell cast before it in the turn. If you cast all the other instants and sorceries in the graveyard first you get a copy of dragonstorm for each of those plus any other spells cast that turn. So not infinite but potentially many.

The copies created by the Storm ability aren't "cast", so they don't also make more Storm copies of their own. Dragonstorm will only make copies of itself once.

Storm triggers after you cast all spells your going to cast from Chandra Ablaze. This means the storm ability will be the first thing resolving, then it'll put copies of the spell on top. The copies will resolve, then the spells cast from Chandra will resolve in the reverse order of you casting them. While storm triggers after all the spells are cast, it only 'sees' the ones cast before Dragonstorm, so you will need to make sure that's the last one you cast (or at least cast late enough to get all the dragons out of your deck).
