chains of mephistopheles draw lock

Asked by Winterblast 6 years ago

I'd like to confirm my opinion on the interaction of Chains of Mephistopheles with Anvil of Bogardan. Is it correct that players won't be able to draw (and keep) any cards when these two are on the board?

First the card for the turn is drawn, then the second draw of anvil triggers...chains makes you discard the first card, then the additional card is drawn, which again results in discarding a card. At least that's how I think it should work but I'm not entirely sure. Can anyone confirm that this works as planned?

You are correct, each turn the player will draw 2 cards and discard 2 cards.

Ok lol, that's a real cheap two card trick...got to try how it works in practice :)

It's worth noting that if the card they draw for the turn is an instant, they can cast it before the Anvil strips it from their hand. If the card they draw from the Anvil is an instant though they will lose it before they have a chance to cast it.
