Card interaction questions

Asked by Sikening 9 years ago

I just have a couple questions about a couple cards.

Can Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge cast both halves of a fuse card such as Turn / Burn ?

Does Ragemonger 's ability affect the bestow cost of Gnarled Scarhide ?

Thanks in advance.

  1. Fuse is an ability of certain cards that only function while the cards is in your hand. So in this case you will not be able to cast both sides of Turn / Burn

  2. Ragemonger 's ability as long as the card you are casting has the subtype minotaur. In this case Gnarled Scarhide doesn't lose its creature types until it enters the battlefield. So it only costs 3.

  1. No. The Fuse ability states that you can cast either or both cards from your hand, meaning that if it is cast from anywhere else, you can only cast one of the two spells.

  2. Gnarled Scarhide remains a Minotaur even if you bestow it, meaning that Ragemonger will reduce it's bestow cost to .

First, ask unrelated questions in separate threads. Do not create compilation threads of unrelated questions.

lordoftheshadows and thispersonisagenius are correct in stating that fuse only functions while the card is in your hand, so you cannot fuse a card from exile.

However, they are both wrong about Gnarled Scarhide and Ragemonger . If you cast a creature card for its bestow cost, it is instead an Aura spell. Because it no longer has the type "Creature," it loses any creature subtypes it originally had. Therefore, Gnarled Scarhide is no longer a Minotaur spell at the time you calculate and pay costs.
