Can you use Ephemerate to cheat in a manifested non-creature card the same way you can with Cloudshift?

Flickering with Cloudshift exiles a creature and returns that card to the battlefield regardless of if the card is still a creature or not.
Does flickering with Ephemerate work the same way or does the manifested card remail exiled because Ephemerate expects a creature to be returned to the battlefield?

In terms of functionality, they work exactly the same. It’s simply a matter of terminology: one says “that card”, the other says “it”, but they both refer to the creature which they exile in their respective cards.

They work the same. The difference in wording is interesting, but I can't think of a single time it would matter.
