Can you target Ormendahl, Profane Prince with Infinite Obliteration?
Asked by FatherLiir 8 years ago
Because Infinite Obliteration can only target creature cards, and Ormendahl, Profane Prince Flip is also Westvale Abbey Flip, when creature/land is in your hand, graveyard or library is it targetable by Infinite Obliteration?
First, Infinite Obliteration doesn't target any card, it targets the player.
Second, you can name Ormendahl, but when you search their hand, library and graveyard, you will only find Westvale Abbey Flip, which is not what you named.
Whenever a DFC is anywhere other than the battlefield, the only side that matters is the front side, you ignore the back.

Crumble to Dust is the best option in Standard if Westvale Abbey Flip is a problem. In case you don't know

No, when a double faced card is in any zone besides the battlefield it has only the characteristics of the front face. When a DFC is in the battlefield it has the characteristics of the face up side.
