Can multiple spells with 'Flash' go on the stack in response to an instant?

Asked by BubbleMahn 9 years ago

Is it possible/legal to cast multiple spells with 'flash' and have then resolve on the stack as part of one response to an instant (provided everything played in response resolves)?

Let's say I have Emrakul, the Aeons Torn, and I swing with it. My opponent casts an AEtherize to bounce Emmy. In response to AEtherize, could I play Shimmer Myr, then Sundial of the Infinite and use the Sundial to end my turn all before AEtherize could resolve?

Objects on the stack resolve one at a time, and everyone gets a chance to make responses in-between. After Shimmer Myr resolves, you're allowed to respond with Sundial of the Infinite before AEtherize can start resolving. After Sundial resolves, you're allowed to respond by activating it before Aetherize can start resolving.

Excellent, good to know. So assuming the Sundial's ability resolves, would just AEtherize be exiled?

Yes. All objects on the stack, including AEtherize and the annihilator ability, would be exiled.

Emrakul's triggered ability gets exiled, but the card itself isn't effected in any other way, right?

Right. The card isn't on the stack. The ability is.
