Can Mayael the Anima Tutor in Gods?

When you activate Mayael the Anima ability and search the top 5 and for example Iroas, God of Victory was revealed can you put him into play because he counts as a creature?
Epochalyptik How do we check Gatherer rulings? I almost asked this same question.

Download this app for your phone its great for rules. It gets all the rules from the gatherer. It called MTG Familiar. Great app i use it for everything.

Always check the Gatherer rulings before asking a question.
4/26/2014: The type-changing ability that can make the God not be a creature functions only on the battlefield. Its always a creature card in other zones, regardless of your devotion to its color.
The God cards are always creatures in zones other than the battlefield, so you may put a God card onto the battlefield through an effect like that of Mayael the Anima 's ability, regardless of whether the God would be a creature while on the battlefield.
