Can I Zada, Herron grinder + helm of the host + a copy spell?

Asked by GatheringGamings 3 years ago

I'm running Zada,Hedrron grinder as the main win condition in my deck. The point of this win condition is to copy Zada,Hedrron grinder with helm of the host then copy Zada,Hedrron grinder with a copy spell such as twinflame copying zada infinitely until I lightning strike or lightning bolt a zada therefore creating infinite etb triggers or infinitely copying another creature on the battlefield.

For future reference, you can surround a card's name with double brackets, "[", in order to link the card image. This works sitewide.

To your question, you will not get infinite copy of Zada, Hedron Grinder.

Let's say that you already have Zada and a token of Zada from Helm of the Host. Next, you cast Twinflame targeting the original Zada. This will trigger the original Zada. Once that trigger resolves, you create a copy of Twinflame targeting the Helm token of Zada. This does not trigger the token of Zada. When you copy a spell, you are not casting it. Rather, it is created on the stack and is targeting Zada. Since you are not casting the copy of Twinflame, Zada will not trigger.

Hope this helps!!
