Can I uses Crypt Champion in a B/U commander deck?

It doesn't have any non-blue/black activated or triggered abilities but there is a red mana in Crypt Champion's text. Looking to use him in a Lazav, the Multifarious deck.

Color identity counts color indicators, symbols in mana cost, and any symbols in rules text. The only mana symbols not counted are those in reminder text. Reminder text is the parenthetical and italicized text clarifying what abilities do. So far the only reminder text with mana symbols in it that are not in the rules text is extort.

Makes sense. Sucks though because Crypt Champion is the only black card that has double strike.

Crypt Champion's color identity is still RB, so you couldn't use it. Color identity counts color indicatior if it has one, plus all colored mana symbols in the casting cost and text box, except for symbols found in reminder text such as that for extort (seen on Crypt Ghast). Reminder text is exempt because ostensibly it wouldn't always appear on cards (compare M19's Air Elemental to Ixalan's Air Elemental).
