Can I target aftermath spells with Torrential Gearhulk

As I understand the new rulings on split cards, cards like Commit / Memory as considered Instant Sorcery and could be searched for as such. Would Torrential Gearhulk be able to target these cards (as long as one half of them is instant)? Does the interaction matter if I played Torrential Gearhulk during my main phase or flashed in?

Yes you can.
Also, the gear hulk ignores normal timing restrictions for the spell because it casts the spell during the resolution of the ability.
