Can I enchant a bestowing creature?

Asked by ShadowNinja0704 8 years ago

Let's say I bestow Giant Scorpion with Thassa's Emissary. Then, can I enchant Thassa's Emissary with Oracle's Insight while it's attached to Giant Scorpion? If so, how would the card interactions work, and who be would tapped, etc?

This can't happen as described. When Thassa's Emissary is cast for its bestow cost, it loses the creature type and gains the type aura, and enchants Giant Scorpion. It is not a valid target for Oracle's Insight because it is not a creature. It will become a creature if the creature it is enchanting becomes an illegal object to enchant or leaves the battlefield.

No. Thassa's Emissary isn't a creature while it's bestowed onto something. If Thassa's Emissary becomes unattached from the object it's enchanting, then it becomes a creature and can be enchanted as such.

Note that if for some reason an Aura is also a creature, then it becomes unattached from anything it's enchanting (creatures can't be attached to anything) and is put into its owner's graveyard (Aura permanents can't exist without being attached to something).
