Can I cast X when placing onto battlefield?

Lets say I play a Genesis Hydra and I find a Primordial Hydra. Could I pay the X in Primordial Hydras casting cost or would it be placed onto the battlefield as a 0/0. Is there anyway I could pay X for Primordial Hydras mana cost by finding it this way?

If you're casting something without paying its mana cost, or if you're putting something directly onto the battlefield, X is always considered to be 0. If you didn't want to lose the Primordial Hydra, you'd have to cast it from somewhere without paying any alternate casting costs.
