Can Boros Garrison be tapped and sent back to the hand

Asked by BalaGhed29 8 years ago

So, if my opponent has Amulet of Vigor out and plays Boros Garrison, it comes in untapped. Can my opponent tap for mana then bounce the same Boros Garrison back to the hand, as per its effect?

Yes if he stacks his triggers right. In order to do this, he must have the triggered ability from Amulet of Vigor resolve first, before Boros Garrison's ETB triggered ability. Then, in response to the bounce ability, tap the Garrison for . Then let it bounce back to his hand.

Also note that the land still enters tapped, but it gets untapped once Amulet of Vigor resolves.

There is actually a deck based on that interaction. It is no longer tier 1 because one of the pieces got banned, but it still exists. As Squiggle said the land still enters tapped, but becomes untapped when the trigger resolves. This becomes especially important when there are 2 amulets in play and a player is making 4 mana off of a single land drop.

Yes it can target itself and return to the hand after tapping for mana... It's a pretty sick combo with Summer Bloom a card only recently banned in modern.

The bounce effect from Ravnica Karoos doesn't target. It would be better if it did but it doesn't.

Yes wrong wording there I meant that it can bounce itself and said "targeting" sorry about that
