Angelic Field Marshal

Asked by Riv329 7 years ago

When playing Angelic Field Marshal it says as as long as you control your commander it gets +2/+2 and creatures you control have vigilance. Does this mean that my commander has to be on the battle field or can it be in the command zone.

It has to be on the battlefield. Only permanents and spells/abilities on the stack can be "controlled" by someone, and permanents only exist on the battlefield.

You can only control permanents. Cards outside of the battlefield have owners, but not controllers. You always own your commander, but you only control it if it's on the battlefield, and under your control (not an opponent's).
