Multiple Cards Not Appearing

I was trying to update my Rosheen X Spells Commander Deck, but when I update it, it says more than half the deck isn't recognized despite the card existing. Here is an image of the error I get: Error Screenshot

Is anyone else getting this issue, or is it just me?

Yep same here. Amazing how poorly this site operates.

Same here as well! My example list: https://i.imgur.com/ZwLexHp.png

For whatever reason the error seems to primarily focus on almost all your cards starting with the letters K-Z. No clue why though.

I am getting a "Card Not Found" error message when trying to add Mechanized Production too. The site recognizes the card when I search it but I get "Card not found" in the Printing dropdown and can't add it.

Yes, same thing happening to me. It’s really frustrating.

EnnCeeBee says... #7

Same for Tezzeret, Artifice Master. I've managed to add other cards, so it's not all cards affected.

Some of my modern decks have almost half the cards missing.

A deck being illegal in casual is admittedly extremely amusing, but I wonder what's up with the site? Lots of random little stuff has started deteriorating, though thankfully it keeps getting fixed. Is someone going around screwing with the code without any experience?

September 12, 2019 6:35 p.m.

Having the same issue on my deck. I updated it, and suddenly half the cards are no longer visible. I love tappedout, but honestly, Archidekt is looking more and more appealing with how bloated this site appears to be.

I'm getting an issue I think is related. In the list viewer a swath of cards are showing as Unknown. See here.

September 12, 2019 6:47 p.m.

csyounge01 says... #21

yeah that the same issue, does it also say the deck is illegal?

when is there a system reset each day? that might fix this

Weirdly enough, I have some cards that don't throw the error that are within the K-Z:

1x Might Sliver 1x Scoria Wurm 1x Virulent Sliver 1x Springleaf Drum 1x Ral Zarek 5x Mountain 1x Mountain Valley 1x Naya Panorama 1x Plains 1x Rupture Spire 1x Swamp 1x Terramorphic Expanse 1x Transguild Promenade 1x Mind Stone 1x Swiftfoot Boots 1x Whispersilk Cloak 1x Worn Powerstone

Can anyone confirm if those show up as errors for them as well? I tried seeing if I got the error with mana Crypt as I saw csyounge01 had that visible as normal in their decklist, and the card showed up normally for me as well, so maybe it's a card-specific thing?

just realized mana crypt wasnt broken, wonder why

It doesn't look like anybody tagged yeaGO yet, so there it is.

I'm also having the same issue as Gulaghar. 31 cards in my Kadena, Slinking Sorcerer deck are coming up as category "unknown," and the cards are not links to their own page, thus no hover-over-view.

September 12, 2019 7:08 p.m.

csyounge01 says... #29

40 in my deck are unknown

Just performed a science experiment with my Volrath's Lil' Buddy EDH deck.

82 cards in main and maybeboard with names K-Z. Of those, 50 kicked back as unknown, letting 32 through as ok:

1x Karn's Bastion 1x Kavu Climber 1x Lazav, Dimir Mastermind 1x Llanowar Wastes 1x Long-Term Plans 1x Lumbering Falls 1x Mimic Vat 1x Mind's Eye 1x Minion Reflector 1x Reliquary Tower 1x Renegade Doppelganger 1x Rewind 1x Safe Haven 1x Safe Haven 1x Simic Growth Chamber 1x Simic Guildgate 1x Simic Signet 1x Soul of the Harvest 1x Steel Hellkite 1x Stolen Identity 1x Strip Mine 1x Temple of the False God 1x Terramorphic Expanse 1x Underground River 1x Urza's Mine 1x Urza's Power Plant 1x Urza's Tower 1x Vault of Whispers 1x Vesuvan Shapeshifter 1x Wasteland 1x Yavimaya Coast 2x Swamp

The only patterns I had noticed was that typically (but not always) the cards were either lone cards or clusters of 3 when sorted alphabetically for possible candidates for invalidation.

all mine are 4x

darkPrince010 says... #32

Gattison, the card pages are still there in theory, but the linking between them is all wonky.

Case study comparison:

Sol Ring

Normal link attempt with double brackets: sol ring

Despite proper capitalization of the card when posting, it instead finds the closest match in card decks?

Raw URL: https://tappedout.net/mtg-card/sol-ring/

Note that the card image doesn't pop up on the left when you load the URL.

Chromatic Lantern

Link attempt: Chromatic Lantern

Other stuff seems unaffected and links to the card as normal.

Just made a test case from one of the invalid cards in Volrath's Lil' Buddy:

Opulent Palace

So if you have a deck the same name as the disallowed card, it turns the card link into a link to the deck.

September 12, 2019 7:26 p.m.

darkPrince010 says... #34

Weeeeeiiiird.

I refreshed my Volrath's Lil' Buddy, and now not only does Opulent Palace show up as a valid card, but it somehow fixed its hyperlinking too!

...anyone chance taoth31 could change his cube name(sol ring) to Sol Ring with the capitalization, so we can fix the hyperlink for all us poor EDH players?

September 12, 2019 7:29 p.m.

darkPrince010 says... #35

Testing again with Staff of Nin. Screencapping for posterity. I renamed my Opulent Palace deck to see if that's all that's needed to fix it.

Success! https://imgur.com/a/fOXUn7u

So, who feels like fixing *(checks math on Gatherer) oh, around 8,625 cards via naming and renaming decks?

IlLupo643 says... #36

Same problem, I'm now afraid to look at other decks, 31 cards in The Royal Scions are unknown...!

September 12, 2019 7:43 p.m.

nhadfield says... #37

Yeah same problem here. Multiple cards with no image link, showing up as unknown. Also, multiple cards not showing up in the deck when trying to play test, even when that are all blue (indicating they have been found and have an image)

September 12, 2019 8:09 p.m.

Gullara says... #38

csyounge01 It does say it's illegal.

September 12, 2019 8:17 p.m.

My guess is something got screwed up with the database indexing. If so, there's a good chance it'll fix itself next time automatic DB maintenance runs. They're probably just leaving it alone until scheduled downtime.
