How does the tokens section in deck editing work?

Title. I have tried to change the tokens of my deck using the token section or add more tokens but the tokens list in the deck edit does nothing.

When you add a token to the token section, it appears on the sidebar of the deck under "Tokens" and also it can be created in the playtest. If you have a deck where this isn't working please link it to me.

I have tried many times to change the Treasure tokens used by the Playtest and the sidebar but nothing I do seems to work or have any effect.

Currently my sidebar shows the Treasure tokens from Ixalan set but the Playtest uses Treasure tokens from Crimson Vow set.

When I try to add a different Treasure token to the Tokens section in edit, it does show me the list of all available Treasure token printings and allows me to choose from any of them but when I try to hit "Save" after picking one to the Tokens section it gives me error messages:

  • When I try to use the Ixalan Treasure token, it gives me error "Only tokens are allowed in the Tokenboard"

  • When I try to use any other Treasure token, it gives me error "Printings not found: Treasure (M20)" (even though the dropdown list shows it there).

I have tried that with multiple of my decks and it does not seem to work with any of them. Here is one of them: Mill Among Thieves.

^In that deck, you can see Ixalan Treasure tokens being used in the sidebar but when you go into the Playtest, it instead uses Treasure token from Crimson Vow.

Something happened and now the deck I linked uses Treasure tokens from the Forgotten Realms set instead but the same problems exist that I am unable to change the token printing and it gives me error messages when I try to.

This deck of mine Will Cast Spells For Money show the same problems I listed in the previous message.

Yeah, we found the problem and will be fixed soon. I'll let you know when Treasure token is working fine.

Treasure token should be working fine now.

The only thing that will be fixed in a future update is the ability to pick an art of a token that has multiple arts in the same set, such as treasure token in Ixalan. For now it will default to a single one.

ivaggione Hey, I tested it and it should be working, thank you! Though while testing I noticed some issues:

  • if a card makes a token, the token listed on the sidebar shows the latest printed art of that token (for example, the Grim Hireling on the decklist makes a Treasure token from Crimson Vow to appear).

  • when you list a token you wanna use, it does not replace the token that the decklist shows by default if the deck has a card that makes a token (for example again, Grim Hireling is a card that makes a Treasure token, by default the site uses Crimson Vow Treasure token, I choose a Treasure token from another set and now they both show in the sidebar).

Leonantti sorry for the late reply. We addressed the first point in your latest reply. Tokens now should display as the same printing of the card that generates them when possible.

Regarding your second point, we will keep current functionality as is, showing both tokens generated from your main/side board and tokens added to the token board.

ivaggione Hey, thank you for your replies. I really appreciate that you are trying to deal with these issues as they come up.

Unfortunately the "tokens displayed from the same printing as the card that makes them" does not work in some cases since, for example, my Mill Among Thieves has only one card that makes the Treasure tokens, Grim Hireling, which is from the set D&D: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms but the token displayed in the side bar and playtest is still from the Crimson Vow set.

Also the fact that each card that makes a token gets listed in the token side bard makes the token side bar really clustered up. For example my Call of Souls deck has many sources that create same kind of tokens and it now lists same kind of token multiple times (my deck's token side bar lists black 2/2 zombie five times when they are all the same kind of token!).

Could you please, please implement a functionality that when checked in the editor would ignore what tokens the cards create and only look at what tokens are added to the token board in the editor and then list those in the deck's side bar token section?

Another set of changes for tokens are up. We fixed the problem of multiple tokens of the same one appearing in the tokens section, and added a checkbox below the token board to make it replace the auto detected tokens instead of adding them. Hopefully this is what you were looking for.
